Blake Lively Tells Elle She’s Only “Had Four Boyfriends In My Whole Life”

First let’s just get how good Blake Lively looks on the March cover of Elle out of the way. Because this is one of the best covers we’ve seen in a very long time. It’s chic, beautifully understated and the hair, makeup and styling is spot on. The shoot inside is a different story altogether, because can someone say steamy? What we find interesting in the interview is how Blake reveals, “I’ve had four boyfriends in my whole life. I’ve never been with anyone that’s not a boyfriend. If I spend time with a man, it’s because there’s somebody that I know well who has been a friend for a while.” Does this include Ryan Reynolds, her current flame? And Leonardo DiCaprio, the ex of a couple of months ago? And can someone point out that Blake is only 24 so her “whole life” doesn’t really apply here? Because we have a feeling we’re going to see a fair amount of A-Listers on Blake’s arm in the future.

Chloe Mortez Vs. Blake Lively: The Black-And-White Showdown

Chloe Moretz and Blake Lively, who are both co-starring in Hick, showed up in the same color palette at the Jason Wu for Target launch held in New York yesterday. The beauties in black and white have so much going on that it’s hard to pick a favorite. Chloe — quite the fashionista in her own right — wore a black pleated skirt with a white blouson and a rockabilly bow tie. All from Jason’s Target collection, FYI. Chloe had her hair up in youthful, slightly messy braids, styled just like the models in the lookbook. What really won us over are those incredible two-tone heels with the bow-tie ankle straps. Age appropriate, yet right on the money.

Blake, on the other hand, looked ridiculously chic in a black-and-white cocktail peplum (that trumpeting around the waist) dress. Not many could pull this off. It’s from Jason Wu’s Spring-Summer 2012 collection. She also gets extra marks for that huge knuckleduster ring and those Christian Louboutin Fifi Pailettes snakeskin pumps. Both young actresses pulled off some serious monochromatic magic … but who wore it better? Sound off in the comments section!

Where Would Blake Lively Rank Among Steven Soderbergh’s Leading Ladies?

Steven Soderbergh’s having kind of a crap week, what with disappointing numbers for his latest action flick, Haywire, and the news that Annapurna Pictures backed out of one of his next projects, Side Effects. But we feel more sorry for Blake Lively, as some industry sources are speculating that backers aren’t so sure she can handle the role of a young woman caught in a love triangle with her doctor (Jude Law) and her paroled husband (Channing Tatum). It sounds like a heavy step up from Gossip Girl and Green Lantern, but it wouldn’t be the first time Soderbergh has managed to make a movie star into a serious actress. (One of those actresses, Catherine Zeta-Jones, has signed on for another role in Side Effects, giving ol’ Steven a vote of confidence.) Then again, he’s also had a few misses in that category too. Let’s take a look at what the critics have said about five of his leading ladies’ performances:

1. Jennifer Lopez in Out of Sight: “At the center of the film is the repartee between Jennifer Lopez and George Clooney, and these two have the kind of unforced fun in their scenes together that reminds you of Bogart and Bacall. There’s a seduction scene in which the dialogue is intercut with the very gradual progress of the physical action, and it’s the dialogue that we want to linger on.” — Roger Ebert

“Lopez, for all her Latina-siren voluptuousness, has always projected a contained coolness, and this is the first movie in which it fully works for her. As Sisco is lured into a romance with Foley, you can see her resolve melt in spite of itself.” — Entertainment Weekly

Celebrities Pay Tribute To Pedro Almodovar At MOMA

The Museum of Modern Art’s Fourth Annual Film benefit, A Tribute to Pedro Almodovar, had celebrities lined up to pay homage to the Spanish director. A few of the stars had been to the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Awards the previous night, making this second round of dress-up all the more impressive. Two nights out and we’re half dead under our charcoal face masks, but not these ladies. Blake Lively, Chloe Moretz, Anna Wintour, Drew Barrymore, Emma Stone and Sarah Jessica Parker all wore Chanel, while Miranda Kerr was rocking a bizarre, patterned Peter Pilotto dress. Drew also brought her latest boyfriend, Will Kopelman. The evening included video messages to Almodovar from friends Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas, as well as montage of highlights from his films.

We know you want to see what everyone wore, so go ahead and check out our gallery.

Blake Lively Gets Carried Away By Louboutin

We mean that literally. Christian Louboutin actually carried Blake Lively out for a laugh, as they were leaving his cocktail party held at Barney’s yesterday in New York. Blake wore Dolce & Gabbana and her heels were — obviously — a pair of really gorgeous Louboutins. (That’s maybe not the greatest comment on the comfort of those heels, but whatever.) You know, Blake may have all these fabulous actors running around her, but what we truly envy is her being BFF with Mr. Louboutin. He’s so enamored of her, that he actually created a pair of stilettos and named them after the actress. They’re called “The Blake” naturally. Some people are that lucky.

Blake Lively And Leo DiCaprio End The Romance They Admit They Were Having

Blake Lively and Leo DiCaprio split recently, says Us Weekly, which means it took the breakup of their relationship to confirm the fact that they were a couple, which we all knew about anyway. A-list couples are confusing! Those heady days of Disneyland visits and trips to Australia are over, however, as Blake and Leo’s five-month-long yacht-based shmoodling tour has come to an end. Fortunately the two reportedly “remain friends,” according to their reps. Since we were all supposed to think they were friends this whole time anyway, why bring it up now just to clarify it? We’re going to need to consult our Celebrity Canoodling spreadsheets to keep make sense of this one. Good thing we hired that intern to work on them. They are very extensive!

The J. Edgar star and Gossip Girl actress reportedly got together back in May following Leo’s break-up with professional babe Bar Rafaeli. Lively broke up with costar Penn Badgley back in October 2010. Now, when Blake and Leo pretend to be friends, they will actually just be pretending to be friends. Either way you slice it, those yacht parties going to be real awkward for a long, long time.

Blake Lively Offered Lead In Pride And Prejudice And Zombies

Reports indicate that director Craig Gillespie has offered Blake Lively Pride And Prejudice And Zombies for her next starring role, which we think would be a genius step forward in her career. Besides, verbally duking it out with Leighton Meester on Gossip Girl is kind of like battling a horde of the undead already, right? Emotionally speaking?

Originally rumored to be starring Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Mia Wasikowska and Emma Stone have allegedly been mentioned for the lead in the zombified version of the Jane Austen classic as well, though our minds are boggled as to why no one has snapped up the role just yet. It’s a period piece, a zombie flick and an action film all in one! That’s like three movies of the best genres combined. For Blake, that practically quadruples her acting experience right there! And Natalie, you’re telling us you don’t want another Oscar already? Sometimes Hollywood leaves us completely dumbfounded.

Blake Lively And Leonardo DiCaprio Take Their Romance Down Under

Why can’t these two just say they’re a couple? Everyone knows about it, and we’re totally on board with this power romance! Blake Lively is in Australia with Leonardo DiCaprio currently, as she flew in to celebrate her birthday with him earlier this week. This is quite the destination love affair, note, because we’ve already seen them in Cannes and New York!

Leo’s in Sydney filming The Great Gatsby at the moment, but made sure he took time out to show Blake a great time. They went out for dinner at Aria which, dreamily, looks over Sydney harbor. An eyewitness revealed, “[Blake] looked gorgeous and they looked very much like a couple. They seemed to be having a really nice time and were definitely enjoying the view.” Oh, the lifestyle of the rich and gorgeous! Happy Birthday, Blake!

The 10 Red Carpet Winners At The Teen Choice Awards

Our ten picks for Best Dressed at the Teen Choice Awards all have something in common: they each dressed in a way that best highlights their personal style. Kourtney Kardashian‘s flowy blue mini was pure California glam, Zooey Deschhanel‘s signature retro look was topped with enviable locks, Rachel Bilson kept it simple in white with killer (literally) heels, and Selena Gomez was youthful and elegant in an Erin Fetherston mini. Ashley Greene‘s Givenchy was sleek and elegant — just like her hair, Nina Dobrev was perfectly girlie in gingham and a high pony-tail, Zoe Saldana sparkled and twirled in her summer-y strapless dress, and Blake Lively‘s printed heels helped her sunny orange dress pop even more.

Two dudes also made it onto our list: the ever-dapper Darren Criss, who rocked a sweet little skinny tie and fitted suit jacket, and Taylor “Wait a second did he suddenly get really hot?!” Lautner perfected his action star look in leather. Yes, Taylor is officially doing the Tom Cruise look BETTER than Tom Cruise.

Check out our ten favorite looks in the gallery below!
